NBA - Not Basketball Anymore

The Knicks are on a five game win streak and hope springs eternal. If Isiah Thomas (still a Piston) would trade that moping, scowling punk Marbury they might be watchable.
Have layups gone out like canvas Cons? Where is the pullup jump shot (JoJo White) the reverse off the glass, the simple give and go?
Brothers and sisters, please - be like CSN and teach your children well. Show them that the backboard IS their friend. That if you really love the ball and you set it free, it will come back to you on the way to the basket. That there is no shame in saying "nice shot" to your opponent.
Maybe we can turn the tide if we work together.... I welcome your comments.

Quite the thought provoking post Tom- I've been thinking about this all morning. Sport evolves, and especially when it is big business (who doesn't prefer watching college ball?). Jordan showed a generation (especially young players) that branding and endorsements were part of the NBA. I wonder if it is too late to save the NBA? I certainly don't watch the game they play anymore. Did you see any of the last Olympics?
Have you thought about writing as a second career - just loved the commentary about basketball and chalk board.
Excellent point Hondo. Kids play a lot less unorganized (or self-organized) sports than back in the day.
